www.Mckinseyquarterly.com -- Info unlimited

Reshma Krishnan

THE McKinsey Quarterly is always a favourite in most universities, especially as supplementary reading.

The journal provides uptodates on the latest developments in the field of business and management. Unfortunately, this journal is always in short supply, especially in India.

But now you have unlimited access to the one of the premier business journals, that too free of cost, thanks to the Internet. www.mckinseyquarterly.com lets you in on the latest happening stories in the world of business. It even allows you to interact with some of the well-known writers. There is a wealth of information on anything from logistics to corporate finance.

The site is user-friendly and has some guidelines to find what you want. The browser section is classified into three groups: Industry, functions and region. The industry section allows specific search, for instance, banking or media. If, say, you want a specific article on the banking sector, you can go to the financial services page that gives a range of options. There is also an editor's choice, that acts as recommended reading.

The next browse module is classified by the different functional areas of an organisation. This gives access to articles, for instance, on organisational strategies. The strategy page offers various sub-classifications, from system dynamics to growth.

The next browse section is classified by regions. For instance, Asia, Europe, and so on. The page links you to a series of articles written on each region. There is also a search engine that allows you to search using key words on such specific subjects as alloy steel or diamonds.

There are a number of special reports and research briefs you can access free, but this facility requires you to register -- a formality requiring no fee. You also automatically become a subscriber to the Web site's newsletter that keeps you updated regularly.

The homepage features some recommended articles. The current issue is also accessible. What makes this site unique is that the information is free. So, make good use of it before they change their minds!
