ATMs at post-offices
Soon, the neighbourhood post office may have automatic teller machines to mop up additional funds.
The Government plans to enter into alliances with banks. The POs will earn rent from the banks to house the ATMs. Banks such as UTI Bank, Citibank and Standard Chartered Bank have expressed interest. There are around 1,33,000 post offices in the country. -- BL Research Bureau
