Coimbatore to have mini Tidel park
Our Bureau
COIMBATORE, July 30
COIMBATORE has been identified as the destination for a proposed mini tidel park.
Though the proposed park is still in its conceptual stage, informed sources disclosed that the district administration has been given the `go-ahead signal' by the Centre. The Centre has accepted to fund this project, which is expected to cost Rs 250 cror
e to Rs 300 crore.
It is likely to come up near the Cointec Fair Grounds on the Avinashi Road. Sources pointed out that about 25 acres, belonging to the State Government had been identified for the proposed project.
Unlike the earlier Bharathiar-Elcot Park, which has remained a non-starter, the mini-tidel park mooted now is expected to give a boost to this city because of its strategic location. The IT corridor will have all the infrastructural facilities in place,
not just the land, the source said.
