Maran to open CII seminar on exports to China

NEW DELHI, July 31
THE Minister for Commerce and Industry, Mr Murasoli Maran, is to inaugurate a national seminar on `Exporting to China - Opportunities and challenges' being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on August 2.
A host of senior representatives from industry and Government having knowledge, expertise and experience in various aspects of marketing and operations in China are scheduled to address the meeting.
The key speakers include the Joint Secretary, Mr R. Gopalan, the Executive Vice-President, Ranbaxy Ltd, Mr B.K. Raizada and the Managing Director, Bry-Air Ltd, Mr Deepak Pahwa.
The seminar is to be the first in a series of integrated initiatives for catalysing a jump in the exports to China.
In keeping with the need of the domestic exporting community, the seminar will focus on outlining effective strategies for market entry and development in China with special reference to the structure of Chinese market, distributing and sales networks, b
anking and financial system and branding and pricing strategies.
Besides, to present a comprehensive understanding of the local commercial banking system and unique aspects of trading with China, a session entitled `Banking and financial system in China', has also been organised.
