Commodities
Cotton not in fashion
Cotton prices are falling. They are in fact at their lowest in three years and production and yield forecasts suggest that the trend will continue for a while. The cotlook A index price, a principle measure of international cotton prices, has fallen from 60 cents per pound in May last year to a low of 44.90 cents per pound a few days ago. It has averaged 58.1 cents per pound through June of 2000-01 season.
