Lint prices rule easy
COIMBATORE: Cotton lint prices ruled easy during the last fortnight. In Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, prices remained steady. Bengal Desi variety was ruling at Rs 1,120 to Rs 1,230 per maund spot. J-34 saw ginned was being quoted at Rs 1,960-2,040 per m
aund spot.
Lint prices continued to rule firm in Gujarat. V-797 was quoted at Rs 14,500-15,500 per candy spot. Shankar 6 was ruling at Rs 20,500-21,500 per candy spot.
In Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, a steady trend prevailed. MCU-5 (AP) was ruling between Rs 24,800 and Rs 25,600 per candy spot. Quality lots were in good demand. Sowing was complete in certain tracts as Warangal. In Madhya Pradesh, the mill demand
was moderate. H4 was quoted at Rs 20,200 and Rs 20,900 per candy spot.
Price levels showed no change in Maharashtra despite discount offers on volumes.
In Karnataka, price levels continued to remain firm. Jayadhar was quoted at Rs 14,600-16,200 per candy spot. Good quality of DCH-32 was in good demand.
