Volumes rise at CSE
KOLKATA: The Calcutta Stock Exchange on Tuesday saw increase in volume. The total turnover of the exchange stood at Rs 86.74 crore against the Monday's Rs 52.23 crore.
However, prices, particularly of technology shares, declined. The Infosys stock finished at Rs 3,255.60 conceding an intraday loss of 12.25 per cent.
Among the other losers were the scrips of DSQ Software, PentaMedia Graphics, Global Tele and Silverline. The RIL counter also witnessed selling pressure and closed at 326.70 against the previous closing of 355.70, down 8.15 per cent.
Notable gainers were the equities of NIIT and HLL.
The CSE-50 closed at 115.64 points against the previous close of 118.43. -- Our Bureau
