Rolling settlement run over volumes
THE first day of trading after the transition to rolling settlement has certainly been low key for the markets, with trading volumes plummeting sharply. With effect from July 2, 409 stocks changed over to rolling settlement on a T+5 basis.

Gloomy conditions weigh down sentiment
IF it was the removal of badla that tormented traders all these days, on Tuesday, it was the turn of UTI to chill the markets.

Volumes rise at CSE
KOLKATA: The Calcutta Stock Exchange on Tuesday saw increase in volume. The total turnover of the exchange stood at Rs 86.74 crore against the Monday's Rs 52.23 crore.

Technical Analysis
Bears upbeat
RIGHT from the initial hours of Tuesday's trading, the bears were in total control of the market. Bulls were unable to make any recovery during the day. The movement in the Nifty was around 30 points. Bears capitalised the day's entire move. Bear dominat ion terminated the uptrend in the index. The market sentiment reading of the tradable counters changed to bearish.
