Essar Steel signs up GPPL for monsoon cargo
THE Essar Steel Ltd (ESL) has gone in for a total revamp of its freight logistics whereby the company's sizable cargo during May-September would henceforth be handled entirely by Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd (GPPL). According to Mr John C. Parker, Director ( Operation), Essar Steel, this marks a major policy shift as the ESL had till date been using the Bhavnagar port operated by the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) for its bulk cargo movement (import of oxides) during the monsoon months as against GPPL for expo rts of steel cargo.
