Red Hat launches Linux 7.1 version

MUMBAI, May 7
RED Hat India Pvt Ltd, an open source company, today announced the availability of Red Hat Linux 7.1.
According to a press release, Red Hat Linux 7.1 includes the new 2.4 kernel with improved SMP support for superior performance on Intel multi-processor platforms.
The operating system also delivers new configuration tools that enable users to effortlessly set up and administer DNS, Web and print servers.
In India, Red Hat Linux 7.1 will be available in all three versions - standard, deluxe and professional.
These include the Red Hat Linux operating system, installation manual, support and Red Hat Network.
Red Hat Linux Deluxe and Professional versions include productivity applications, StarOffice, Office Suite, Loki Games CD and user guides, the release said.
