A TASK FORCE of the Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS) of the central banks of Group of 10 industrial countries has come out with a census of stress tests. Stress tests are tools used by financial firms to gauge their potential vulnerability to exceptional but plausible events.

THE Union Finance Minister, Mr Yashwant Sinha, will be the Chairman of this year's Development Committee meeting to be held in Washington on April 30, 2001. Development Committee is the joint IMF-World Bank Committee on the Transfer of Real Resources to Developing Counties.
