New tariffs for box handling at Nhava Sheva likely
APPROVAL for an Efficiency Linked Tariff Scheme (ELTS) involving a 16-per cent hike in the container handling charges at Nhava Sheva International Container Terminal (NSICT) have run into rough weather and is likely to be replaced by a new scheme, curren tly being examined by the Tariff Authority for Major Ports (TAMP).

KCT to handle coal for TNEB at Paradip port
THE Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has appointed KCT, the handling agent for the loading of thermal coal at Paradip port, for five months from February. Earlier, the job was done by SICAL belonging to the A.C. Muthiah group.

CCEA approves revised estimate for Ennore port
THE Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) meeting held on Wednesday cleared the revised cost estimate for the construction of a new port at Ennore, near Chennai, at an estimated cost of Rs 1,058.52 crore.

Seafood exports from Kochi port down
THE status of Kochi port in the export of marine products has come down to third position during the first nine months of the current fiscal, even as the country's seafood exports crossed the Rs 5,000-crore mark during the period.
