THE HINDU BUSINESS LINE

Business Line is the newest newspaper among the financial and economic dailies in India. Started in January 1994, the paper has achieved an average circulation of 35,000 copies during the week and nearly 60,000 on Sundays. The paper is printed simulataneously from eight centres.

Though news coverage remains one of the important functions of a financial daily, Business Line is different because it offers a more comprehensive analysis of news and issues. Daily features -- one on each day of the week -- focus on critical functions within a manager's ken: accounting, banking, marketing, taxation, transport, technology.

The emergence of small and individual investors as significant group of influencers is one of the key features of the Indian economy. The weekend edition of Business Line ( titled Investment World) offers sunstancial coverage of issues that concern this group of investors.

Weekly sections on book reviews and features on small business and entrapreneurs (titled Life) serve to balance the newspaper's offering.
