Vizag port posts all-time high operating surplus
THE Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) has achieved an all-time high operating surplus of Rs 105.53 crore during 1999-2000 as against Rs 92.50 crore during 1998-1999.



UPS-Jetair tie-up for express delivery services
UNITED Parcel Service (UPS), the express carrier and delivery company, on Wednesday announced a 60:40 joint venture with Jetair, the general sales agency (GSA), for international express delivery services in the country.

CDLB incurs Rs 12 cr deficit in first half
THE Calcutta Dock Labour Road (CDLB) has incurred a huge deficit of Rs 12 crore in first half of the current fiscal. The trend, it is felt, will persist even in the second half, thus pushing up the total deficit during the whole year to an estimated Rs 2 3.5 crore.

Kochi lorry agents to back strike
THE Cochin Lorry Agents Association has extended its support to the proposed nation-wide strike called by the All-India Motor Transport Corporation on November 3 in protest against the fuel price hike.
