Reliance Petro Q2 net at Rs 402 cr

MUMBAI, Oct. 30
RELIANCE Petroleum Ltd (RPL) today reported a gross sales of Rs 14,308 crore during the first half of the current year ended September 30, 2000, and a net profit of Rs 726 crore. The net profit for the second quarter was Rs 402 crore against Rs 324 crore
in the first quarter.
Figures for gross sales were Rs 8,325 crores in the second quarter against Rs 5,983 crore in the first quarter. Other income was Rs 70 crore (Rs 13 crore).
RPL's exports of petroleum products aggregated Rs 2,138 crore. Capacity utilisation was higher at 12.6 million tonnes of crude against a rated capacity of 27 million tonnes per year.
The RPL Managing Director, Mr Anil Ambani, said that the management was encouraged by RPL's strong financial performance in the very first six months of operations. "This has been achieved as a result of RPL's global competitiveness," he stated in a pres
s release.
RPL has become the country's largest private sector company in terms of sales and the second largest in terms of net profit after group firm Reliance Industries Ltd just on the basis of the first half-year results.
