250 MUL workers rejoin duty

NEW DELHI, Oct. 30
THE ongoing agitation at Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) took a new turn today when a group of more than 250 employees reported back to work after about 10 former office-bearers of past MUL labour unions split away from the agitating employees and rejoined work.
According to a statement signed by the returning ex-office-bearers, they rejoined the plant after signing the good conduct undertaking. The leaders included ex-presidents of the Maruti Udyog Employees' Union, the union which is currently striking work, t
he statement said.
The statement said that about 250 employees rejoined the plant and more are expected to join during the course of the week. The number of employees who are now working at the plant has crossed 1,300, the statement said.
