Re weakens by 7 paise
MUMBAI: THE rupee closed weaker by seven paise on Tuesday at 46.43/44 against the dollar compared to Monday's close at 46.3650/3750. The rupee opened on Tuesday at 46.39/40 levels.

THE cat is finally out of the bag. At a recent meet with the Finance Minister, Indian businessmen pleaded for more public investment. They blamed the industrial recession squarely on the drastic fall in the Government's cap ex. There were also the usual prayers for protection from cheap imports.
