Shipping/Ports States - Andhra Pradesh Visakha container terminal gets ISO 28000 certificate Our Bureau Visakhapatnam, Dec. 27 The Visakhapatnam container terminal has obtained ISO 28000 certification and it has also got connected to Thailand through a new service, as it is preparing to enter the New Year, according to Capt. Sriram Ravichander, Chief Operating Officer. At a press meet here on Monday evening, Capt. Ravichander said, “It is a double whammy for us. We have the ISO 28000 certificate today from the Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), Mumbai, and it is the first time an organisation in Andhra Pradesh has got the certificate. The certification covers a wide range of requirements for security management systems,” he said and added that coastal security was of the utmost importance. The certification audit was conducted from November 10 to November 12 by a team headed by Capt. R.E, Balasubramanian, he said.
