Telecommunications States - Kerala Matrix Cellular starts operations in Kerala
Our Bureau Kochi, Aug. 10 Matrix Cellular (International) Services Pvt Ltd has set up its office in Kochi to provide mobile phone solutions to overseas travellers from the State. The company has tied up with Kochi-based D.C. Johar and Sons Pvt Ltd for setting up a franchise office in order to make available convenient and economical mobile phone solutions for travelling customers. Mr Sherman Roy, Senior Manager (Southern Region), Matrix, said at a press meet that the focus of the company is to give country-specific mobile connection that help travellers save up to 60 per cent of international roaming charges, while enjoying all the services being provided by the network in any country. He pointed out that using a Indian mobile number abroad is expensive and the service of Matrix saves the customer the hassle of procuring a mobile connection on arrival in that country. Matrix acts as a Telecom consultant and suggests the communication solution which best suites the customer’s need, he said. Matrix Cellular will offer local country specific SIM cards to travelers flying abroad from Kerala. The company provides SIM cards for over 30 countries across the world. In India, they are providing SIM cards in association with Hutchinson Telecom. Mr Madhukar Johar, CMD, D.C. Johar and Sons Pvt Ltd said Matrix offers a unique combination of low airtime rates, global coverage and courteous 24x7 customer care and toll free number. Through Matrix’s value-added services, international travellers get benefits such as receiving free incoming calls, seamless connectivity and instant activation, billing in Indian rupees, separate international numbers, post-paid mobile connection etc. Matrix also offers mobile solutions for students going abroad for higher studies. Students traveling to the US, the UK or Australia enjoy great deals from Matrix with free phones in the US, free talk time and other benefits, he said.
