Tata Motors has been conferred the Golden Peacock Global Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the `Large Business' category by the Institute of Directors, the international body of company directors, says a press release.
The company has received the award based on assessment, by an independent jury, of its integration of CSR concerns with corporate functioning, responsiveness to the needs of different stakeholders, and development of innovative partnership models to fulfil social responsibilities.
Corporate Excellence
The jury comprised distinguished personalities from across the world, under the chairmanship of Dr Ola Ullsten, former Prime Minister of Sweden.
The award is conferred annually. "Tata Motors is honoured to accept this award. It is a global recognition of our CSR practices," said Mr M.B. Paralkar, Senior General Manager-Corporate HR, Tata Motors.
The Institute of Directors has instituted the Golden Peacock Awards to promote corporate excellence in areas of quality, innovation, training, governance, environment management and corporate social responsibility.
The award will be presented at the second Global Conference on Social Responsibility in Vilamoura, Portugal, adds the release.
