Hyderabad , Aug. 15 Close on the heels of the Madras High Court judgment against multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes, the Hyderabad police have cautioned the public not to join these schemes and get cheated. The Superintendent of Police, Economic Offices Wing of CID here, Mr V.C. Sajjanar, has appealed to the public not to enrol themselves into MLM companies, money circulation schemes, network marketing companies and other such companies and schemes.

In an appeal to public at large, the police have sought their cooperation with the investigating agencies to curb such menace. According to the police, such MLM companies not only destroy the economic fabric of the nation but also the social fabric. The police have urged the public to pass information on such MLM companies and schemes to the nearest police station and concerned Superintendents of Police so as to enable them initiate necessary and prompt legal action. The police said it was brought to their notice that quite a few money circulation schemes in various parts of Andhra Pradesh were thriving as multi-level marketing and network marketing companies, involving hundreds of crores of rupees.
