Uptrend continues in spot rubber

Spot rubber continued to post sharp gains on Friday. The market was overheated as the shortage of raw material kept the buyers under pressure throughout the session.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 improved to Rs 82.50 from Rs 81.50 and Rs 81.75 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi on Thursday. Again in major international indices added fuel to domestic sentiments. The futures were also on a positive move at NMCE. The April contract was traded at Rs 84.50 (Rs 83.31), May contract at Rs 87.30 (Rs 85.95 ), June contract at Rs 88.20 (Rs 87.02) and July contract at Rs 88.35 (Rs 87.42) per kg for RSS 4.

The transactions till noon were better at 1,178 lots with 236 lots in April, 596 lots in May , 266 lots in June and 80 lots in July.
