Corporate Disputes Birla will case: HC directive on gold coins Our Legal Correspondent
Kolkata , March 4 Mr Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta of the Calcutta High Court on Friday directed Ms Manorama Devi, wife of Mr K.K. Birla, to hand over five gold coins and two idols to the court-appointed Special Officer, who shall keep the materials in a separate locker. Earlier, the court had passed a similar order on January 30, 2006, but that was not complied with. Hence, further order to that effect has been asked for and the court passed the above order, which has to be complied with within the next 15 days. The court will see if the articles are indeed required for Puja purpose and whether a separate order can be passed considering the situation.
