Steady trend in rubber

The budget day witnessed an almost steady trend in spot rubber prices in the absence of any trend setting factors. Slightly weak Japanese futures indices kept the domestic sentiments dull NMCE March contract ended at Rs 82.48 (Rs 82.41), April contract at Rs 84.75 (Rs 84.98), May contract at Rs 87.50 (Rs 87.60) and June contract at Rs 88.90 (Rs 88.83) per kg for RSS 4. Physical prices a kg were: RSS-4: Rs 81 (Rs 81); RSS-5: Rs 80 (Rs 80.); ungraded: Rs 79 (Rs 78.50); ISNR 20: Rs 80 (Rs 80) and latex 60%( per Ltr): Rs 58 (Rs 58).
