Employment Summer placements at IIM Kozhikode Our Bureau
Kochi , Oct. 28 WITH 27 new companies descending on to IIM Kozhikode, all the 160 students found summer placements among a wide spectrum of companies pursuing different activities in the country. Some of the companies that debuted on campus this year include Cognizant, Edelweiss Capital, Johnson & Johnson, Ocwen Financial Solutions, Reliance Industries Ltd, L'Oréal, Dr Reddy's and Whirlpool, a press release from the institute said. With over 50 companies across wide areas such as investment banking, consulting, FMCG, retail banking, insurance, derivative trading, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, automobile, advertising, IT, ITeS being present, students were able to choose their summer projects in the area of their preference. Reposing greater confidence in IIM K were companies such as Ernst and Young, Capgemini, ITC, Asian Paints, Marico Industries, GE Money, GECIS (Genpact), ICICI Bank, Murugappa Group and Aditya Birla Group. Talking about the placement, the Chairperson of Placements, Dr S.S.S. Kumar said: "The pace at which the summer interns were recruited shows the faith Corporate India has in IIM Kozhikode graduates." The highest stipend offered was Rs 30,000 per month while the average stipend was Rs 15,000. The companies, vying with each other to attract top talent, made an average of 3.4 offers each. Marketing projects remained a favourite amongst students, with 32 per cent of the batch accepting offers from that sector.
