Gold jewellery expo next month

MORE than 150 gold and diamond jewellery manufacturers from India and abroad are likely to participate in the Gold Jewellery India International Exhibition 2005 (GJIIE).

This exhibition, a business-to-business trade fair organised by the World Gold Council (WGC) and Madras Jewellers & Diamond Merchants Association, will be held from May 20 to 22 at the Chennai Trade Centre.

Mr K. Shivram, Vice-President, WGC, said GJIIE 2005 would provide opportunities to businesses involved in gold jewellery. It will also help artisans, and designers to showcase their latest trends and styles, he said. About 10,000 trade visitors connected with gold and gold jewellery are expected to visit the fair. There will be seminars and design forums on the developments in the gold and gold jewellery worldwide.
