Hyderabad , Feb. 22 AFTER opening a research centre in the second half of this fiscal, Syngene, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Biocon Ltd, plans to open another such facility. Mr Goutam Das, COO, told Business Line that the new research facility would come up adjacent to the one at the Biocon Park located in the Bommasandra Industrial Area of Bangalore. Stating that Syngene has designed and managed pre-clinical research projects for MNCs engaged in new drug discovery, Mr Das said the company has decided to go in for another research facility in view of the growing opportunities in the area of contract research. The new research centre would offer services in niche areas of synthetic chemistry, molecular biology, and custom synthesis, meeting the global demand for custom research services by pharma and biotech companies, he said.
