THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Director of the London-based Commonwealth Local Government Forum, Mr Carl Wright, is reaching Kerala on Tuesday for conducting a detailed study into the decentralised planning exercise being undertaken by the State Government.

Announcing this, an official spokesman said that Mr Wright would be visiting the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA) at Thrissur, which has been acclaimed worldwide as one of the leading institutions specialising in imparting training in the field of decentralised planning.

He will hold discussions on various related subjects, including the possibility of conducting international-level training programmes on local-self Governments.

Mr Wright is scheduled to meet, among others, the Minister for Local Self-Government, Mr Cherkalam Abdullah, the Managing Director of KILA, Dr Balan, heads of various municipal corporations and other officials.
