Our Bureau NEW DELHI, May 25 IN an effort to seek opportunities in Iraq for subcontracting work for Indian companies, a 25- member delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) begins a three-day visit to Kuwait from today. In a statement, the chamber has said the visit coincided with the Bechtel USAID Iraq Reconstruction conference. Already, 78 Indian companies had already shown interest in doing this work. An important objective of the mission is to meet with the agencies, organisations, authorities and companies in Kuwait involved in reconstruction work in Iraq. Among the key sectors which have been identified for business development between the two countries include oil and gas, seaport and airport administration, capital construction, power, water supply, road construction, primary and secondary health. The delegation includes key decision-makers from companies such as Tata Consulting Engineering, Ashok Leyland Ltd, Gammom India Ltd, Jindal Iron and Steel, Jindal Vijayanagar, Mahindra and Mahindra, and Tata International, among others.
