Golden Palms turns into health resort

Our Bureau

BANGALORE, Dec. 19

GOLDEN Palms Spa and Resorts, the Sanjay Khan-promoted resort off Tumkur Road near Bangalore, is relaunching itself with a new focus on "total health".

The change in image follows its "amicable" break with partner Hilton in April this year.

Under the earlier arrangement, Hilton was responsible for the day-to-day running of the one-year-old resort.

After Golden Palms took over the management, it introduced new facilities for "life enhancement and image enhancement", according to the President and COO, Mr Bibhash I. Chatterjee.

Cashing in on what Mr Chatterjee calls the "spirit of health", the resort offers "life enhancement" features such as yoga, naturopathy, preventive cardiology, diagnostics, and meditation.

The "image enhancement" part, which will be available from January, includes hair and skin care and cosmetic surgery, for which the resort has invested in operation theatres.

A short holiday package with the family for three nights and four days costs Rs 28,999, while a 6-night, 7-day package costs Rs 49,999.

There is also a proposal to offer membership packages where members can share with other spas, Mr Chatterjee said. A golf driving range is also on the cards.
