THE UPASI-TRI (UPASI Tea Research Institute) is planning a conference on `Recent advances in tea' in the early part of 2003 at Coimbatore.

The conference, according to Dr Muraleedharan, Director, UPASI TRI, is being organised with international participation, mainly to help domestic tea planters and producers.

He said the event would not be confined to presentation of research findings. Policy makers, tea marketers, producers and the scientific community would be roped in, he said.

According to him, the programme is aimed at exchanging information on all aspects of the tea industry across boundaries.
