Phone-in and test your skills; check leave position too

Ajita Shashidhar

NEW DELHI, Dec. 13

IT tells you your leave status, conducts employee surveys as well as tele-interviews. The HR services division of Parsec, Team Builder, has launched a HR automation package called Hello HR, which offers these customised services over the phone.

Speaking to Business Line, Mr Debashish Das, Business Head, Team Builder, said, "Companies are increasingly looking for automation of routine HR activities, so that they can concentrate on more effective people's practices. Hello HR is a time-saving and cost-effective module which will help the employees to get a lot of routine information by just picking up the phone."

Mr Das said that the package also enables the managers to take a test on their leadership skills over the phone, and get to know their points and as to where they stand.

Team Builder has also launched another HR package called Tele Voice, which is a resume-capturing module. The module not only asks the caller his name and qualifications, but also conducts a language test. "This package helps to conduct the initial round of interviews and shortlists candidates for the final interview," remarks Mr Das.

"The duration of the interview is just 10 minutes, and it would take much longer if it is done manually," he adds.

The company is targeting its Tele Voice package at the HR call centres. Mr Das says that Team Builder is hoping to sell these packages to at least 20 companies by the end of March 2003. "We have already sold this package to Hewitt India Life for their call centre business, and are close to striking a deal with the Radisson Group."

Reiterating about the value for money feature of these packages, Mr Das says that the initial investment for the Hello HR package, in a company that has around 500 employees, will be in the region of Rs 1,50,000.

"The cost of the package will differ from company to company, according to the features they wish to incorporate," says Mr Das. The company is expecting a turnover of around Rs 45 lakh out of these two packages. Team Builder is a Rs 5-crore turnover division of the Rs 25-crore Parsec Group.
