Software More stability, optimism in market: Premji Our Bureau
MUMBAI, Dec. 3 THERE is more pricing stability in the Indian software services market, the industry is back in the phase when it is growing and margins are rising, said Mr Azim Premji, Chairman, Wipro, speaking to newspersons here on Tuesday. "I think the panic is over," he said. According to him, the general trend in the market is larger orders. At least, there are larger orders than there used to be in the past, he observed. About Wipro itself, he said the company has very strict pricing floors. If an account is strategic, there is flexibility in pricing, if the account is very large then one is not flexible. "But there is a certain floor below which we will not go," he said, describing the floor prices as reasonable and decent. "Obviously we will grow," he said, of Wipro, declining to make a specific forecast. The industry will also grow in keeping with Nasscom forecasts, which went wrong only last year on account of unexpected happenings. Wipro, he said, will be stronger in the consultancy space, working more with CIOs, CFOs of companies.
