Aptech to tap alumni to fix course content

Ambar Singh Roy

KOLKATA, Nov. 13

IT education major Aptech Ltd will use feedback from its alumni association to modify its course offerings in tune with the changing requirements of industry. The feedback from former students will also be considered by the technology advisory group of the company.

Stating this during an informal interface with Business Line at the launch of the Kolkata Chapter of Aptech Alumni Association here, the Zonal Manager of Aptech Ltd, Mr Amitava Ghosh, said regular interaction with the alumni - who are now professionals in industry - was one of the methods by which Aptech keeps abreast of the evolving skill requirements of the industry and, accordingly, the course curriculum of various IT education programmes are tailored and modified.

In fact, the alumni are urged to be proactive in this regard. The technology advisory group comprises eminent professors and academicians from different universities and IT-related areas. It is entrusted with the task of formulating the course content after in-depth deliberations based on feedback from the market, alumni and industry.

Mr Ghosh expressed the hope that the Kolkata Chapter of Aptech Alumni Association would be a "guiding factor and a source of inspiration'' for existing Aptech students and steer the latter towards better career opportunities as well as provide a platform for interaction aimed at acquiring better knowledge about the industry.
