KOTTAYAM: Malaya Trade Impex ( Private ) Ltd ( MTI ) would export 2,000 tonnes of natural rubber to Spain.

The consignment of 11 containers was flagged off here by Mr George Vali, President of the Indian Rubber Dealers' Federation. MTI has so far exported 500 tonnes and the export of the remaining quantity of 2,000 tonnes would also be completed before the end of this year.

Speaking on the occasion Mr George Vali sought more help from Central and the State Governments to expedite the process of export. He also advised the growers to improve the competency of Indian rubber by quality upgradation.

MTI which is getting trade enquiries from several countries including China would bag more export orders for rubber, said its Managing Director, Mr Mathew T. Thomas.
