Shipping Vizag port posts 58 pc growth in box traffic Our Bureau
VISAKHAPATNAM, Sept. 19 THE Visakhapatnam Port Trust port has recorded a significant growth in container traffic in the current fiscal. According to a port official, the growth in box traffic to Vizag port has been 58 per cent in the first five months of the current fiscal, compared to the corresponding period last fiscal. In fact, the port leads other major ports in terms of growth in container traffic. Vizag port is followed by Kandla port with 30 per cent growth rate, Cochin port with 28 per cent, JNPT with 27 per cent and Chennai with 26 per cent.
