BANGALORE, Sept 18 TATA Infotech's Education Services Division is planning to expand its network of education centres by setting up about 120 centres both in India and abroad this year. While 100 of new centres will be set up in India, nearly 20 of them will come up in the overseas market, especially the developing countries, said Mr Rahul Thapan, head of the company's education services division. The company has about 300 centres in India at present and nearly 15 overseas. The company is primarily targeting the smaller towns in India, while it is looking at countries such as China, Korea, Venezuela, Mexico, Kenya, Zambia in the overseas market for setting up these centres, he said. Tracking the global slowdown, the Indian IT training market size had shrunk to Rs 1,200 crore last year from Rs 1,800 crore in the previous year, he said. While the growth in IT education student segment is looking flat this year, the corporate training market is booming, he added. Tata Infotech has shifted its focus more towards corporate training, he added.
