Education Pact to bring accreditation for business schools Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, July 2 THE Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA) and the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) have entered into an agreement to bring accreditation for business schools. The EFMD runs the European quality assurance scheme (EQUIS), which will be offered to business and management institutions in the South Asian region. Dr Dharni Sinha, Chairman of AMDISA, said: "This alliance formalised in Belgium on June 27 will enhance AMDISA initiatives on quality assurance and accreditation of South Asian business schools''. Under the agreement, EFMD and AMDISA will organise workshops on EQUIS in India, with the former providing personnel, technical help in designing and implementing a regional system of accreditation, including local auditors. The EFMD is a global, membership driven organisation based in Brussels with more than 450 members. It provides accreditation through EQUIS and has accredited schools in five continents.
