TOONZ Animation India, a Technopark-based animation studio specialising in 2D and 3D animation in all formats, won three awards at the Kalamazoo International Animation (KAFI) Festival held last month at Kalamazoo in the US.

Announcing this, a Toonz Animation spokesman said that Three Wishes, a short film by 13-year-old Shaurya Khanduri during the Toonz children's animation workshop, and Stone Crusher, a short film produced by Toonz in association with Unicef, won gold medals in the Student (under 18 years of age) and Public Service Announcement categories respectively.

Torty's Day Out, another short film created during the animation workshop by eight-year-old Sankaran, bagged the silver medal in the Student Category.

"Toonz is honoured to have won three awards,'' said Mr Bill Dennis, President and CEO, from his international office in California.

Sixty films were short-listed from 1,000 entries received for the final festival screening at KAFI.

These films came from the US, South Korea, Mexico, Canada, Germany and the UK.
