Kerala: Advisory councils for power complaints

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Government has formally notified the constitution of special advisory councils at all local self-Government bodies with a mandate to settle all localised complaints relating to supply and availability of electricity.

An official spokesman said that the president of the gram panchayat, municipal chairman of the municipality and mayor of the corporation will act as the chairperson of the respective councils.

All elected members of the local body will automatically become members of the council. MLAs will be special invitees.

The Assistant Engineer of Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) in the panchayat, the Assistant Executive Engineer in the municipality and the Executive Engineer in the corporation will become convenors of the respective councils.
