People Money & Banking - RBI & Other Central Banks Bhagwati deputed to World Bank Our Bureau
NEW DELHI, May 31 DR JAIMINI Bhagwati, Joint Secretary, Capital Markets and External Commercial Borrowings (CM & ECB) division in the Finance Ministry, is set to head the Market Risk Group in the Corporate Finance Department of the World Bank. According to officials, Dr Bhagwati's deputation to the World Bank has been cleared by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet.In his new assignment, he will be dealing with the loan and liabilities portfolio on the World Bank balance sheet. Dr Bhagwati, a career diplomat, worked in the Treasury Department of the World Bank over four years ago. During his tenure in the Finance Ministry, Dr Bhagwati was on the UTI Board, Malegam Committee for Corporate Restructuring and a couple of expert committee's on pension reforms.
