Rubber Rubber prices steady Our Correspondent
KOTTAYAM: Rubber prices remained steady in the absence of sellers' pressure. Sheet rubber RSS 4 improved slightly. Though only moderate upswings were visible, traders predicted gradual improvement in prices in the next few days. Covering purchases were absent. But as the off-season begins shortly, companies will have to procure enough rubber to meet the requirements during the lean months ahead. Arrivals continued to be depressing while buying interests were also feeble. Though some offered better prices they could not procure enough quantum as required by them. Sheet rubber RSS 4 improved to Rs 36.25 from Rs 36 a kg on Saturday. Similarly ungraded rubber enhanced to Rs 31.25 from Rs 31 while RSS 5 and block rubber ISNR 20 remained flat at Rs 33.25 and Rs 33 respectively. Latex 60 per cent also remained static at Rs 31.50 as on Saturday.
