Internet TradeMaps to help developing nations Our Bureau
MUMBAI: The Geneva-based International Trade Centre has launched new Internet services, called TradeMaps, based on the world's largest trade databases and business information from around the world. TradeMaps estimate trade potential between countries, reveal constraints to market access and generally highlight trade dynamics that help firms and countries, especially developing countries, identify trade opportunities and prepare for negotiating strategies. The goal is to contribute to poverty alleviation and higher living standards, through trade - rather than aid - and it is achieved by more tightly integrating developing countries and emerging economies into the world trade system, said a press.
