Agricultural Policy AP to get 2 more agri export zones Our Bureau
HYDERABAD, April 16 THE Andhra Pradesh Government has finalised proposals for two more Agri-export zones (AEZ) one in Krishna-Guntur districts and another in Hyderabad. It has already entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Union Government for establishment of AEZ in Chittoor district for mangoes and fresh vegetables. Stating that the State was a major producer and exporter of agri products, the Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, said there was a need for evolving a proper and satisfactory mechanism to ensure that the interests of farmers as well as local consumers were protected. In this regard, he said a start had been made by providing transport assistance for export of agricultural produce. According to Mr Naidu, incentives given to SEZs would transform them into modern enclaves leading to increased exports.
