OECD meet on steel

MUMBAI: OECD members will meet in Paris on February 7-8 to pursue discussions on excess capacity and resulting market distortions affecting the world steel industry. The meeting follows high-level meetings at the OECD in September and December last year.

Participants agreed at the December meeting to convene again in February, at which time all the assessments from Governments of the situation in their individual countries and projections for reducing excess and inefficient capacity would be available.

Governments and observers will meet again in April to chart out future directions, OECD said in a release.
