`Sandstorm'

In the article titled "Sandstorm" by D. Murali, published on page 13 of Business Line, January 3, there is an uncalled-for reference to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) as "an otherwise stupid Institute". The article also contains some uncalled-for observations about Mr N.D. Gupta, President of ICAI.

We regret, and apologise to ICAI and its President for these observations, which stand withdrawn.
