Rubber Mixed trend in spot rubber Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Dec. 27 Sheet rubber RSS 4 gained marginally on Wednesday to close at Rs 93.50 against Rs 93 at Kottayam. The grade was static at Rs 94 a kg at Kochi since most of the buyers preferred keep on the sidelines, though overseas reports were promising. The market appeared to be losing its charm as the difference between the domestic and international rubber began to put pressure on the traders at higher levels. The activities were in a low key and the trend was mixed.
Futures steady
Rubber futures finished almost steady lacking strength and confidence to accelerate further. On NMCE, the January contract was quoted at Rs 95.03 (95.86), February at Rs 98.24 ( 98.33), March at Rs 100.68 (100.46) and April contract at Rs 102 (102.81) a kg for RSS 4. The undercurrent appeared weak. On MCX, the January contract ended at Rs 95.50 a kg against Rs 96.05 and the transactions totalled 457 ( 1373 ) lots.
Spot prices (Rs a kg) were: RSS-4 : 93.50 ( 93); RSS-5: 90 ( 90); ungraded: 85 (85.25); ISNR 20 : 89.50 (89.50) and latex 60% : 63.65 (63.65).
