Mumbai , Dec. 26 Very soon Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) bus commuters will be able to make calls to any destination in India while travelling. BEST and Hutch are into a partnership with the telecom service provider installing its PCOs in more than 1,700 buses. The Hutch PCO is a GSM-based phone, for commuters to make local, STD and ISD calls using one-rupee coins. Hutch will install and maintain the PCOs to be located behind the driver's seat. Local calls will be charged at Re 1 per 60 seconds, STD calls at Re 1 per 20 seconds and ISD calls at Re 1 per 6 seconds. "At present, 75 buses have been fitted with the PCOs and within the next 3 months, we will hit the target," said Mr Uttam Khobragade, General Manager, BEST, told Business Line.
