Software Kale Consultants bags Portugal airline deal Our Bureau
Coimbatore , Dec. 23 The national airline of Portugal - TAP Portugal has reiterated its bonding with the Pune-based service provider for the travel and transportation industry - Kale Consultants by awarding yet another contract for implementing Kale's Cargo Management System - CSP. Kale has already implemented its passenger proration solutions for TAP Portugal. The Cargo Management System implementation is expected to provide the national carrier a comprehensive set of facilities for its cargo business, by incorporating schedule management, reservations, e-booking, yield management, space control, warehouse operations, revenue accounting, ULD management, customs interface and Management Information. The Vice-President (Cargo) at TAP Portugal, Mr Americo Costa, said the effort was aimed at building a long - term relationship with Kale. He further expressed certainty about the reduction in the carrier's operational costs and flexibility of addressing market changes with the adoption of CSP.
SkyTeam tie-up
Besides the TAP Portugal contract, Kale Consultants also managed to sign up with SkyTeam, the global airline alliance for implementing its Neutral Fare Proration (NFP) engine for International Air Transport Association's First and Final Billing Service. According to Kale sources, IATA had undertaken an evaluation of the various proration engines in the market before identifying two proration engines - APEX from Kale and CIPS from ATPCO as being equally suited to provide neutral prorate service. "We are fast becoming the first choice for business solutions among the world's major airlines. "Our reputation of delivering what we promise - consistently deliver world class software solutions and services under challenging conditions, is recognised by airlines globally," said Ms Neela Bhattacherjee, Executive Vice President - Customer Relationships, Kale Consultants Ltd." Kale's APEX is also used by two of the world major airlines as the in-house proration engine to handle its complex itineraries.
