Mr Kedar Nath Yadav, of the Association for Protection of Democratic Rights, Hooghly District Committee, and Mr Joydip Mukherjee filed three separate PILs challenging the notice issued by the West Bengal Government under the West Bengal Land Acquisition Act, 1994, for acquisition of agricultural land for setting up the small-car project at Mouzas Beraberia, Singher Beri, Khasher Beri, Gopal Nagar, Bajberia in Singur. In the petition of MrMukherjee, the Court directed the petitioner to serve copy to the State respondents and others. The matter is likely to be heard in the third week of January next year.
